Hisense's arrival in Pakistan is a clear expression of economic confidence, says Haroon Akhtar Khan

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan has said that the arrival of global technology company Hisense in Pakistan is a clear expression of global confidence in the country’s economic potential, industrial capacity and investment environment.

He expressed these views while addressing an event organized by Airlink Communication Limited.

Haroon Akhtar Khan further said that the partnership between Hisense and Airlink presents a new model of industrial cooperation, which combines world-class technology, local manufacturing capacity, skills of Pakistani workforce and a shared vision of sustainable economic growth.

He described this partnership as playing a significant role in technology transfer, skills development, industrial upgradation and creation of new employment opportunities.

Referring to Airlink’s modern manufacturing facility in Sundar Special Economic Zone, he said that it is a testament to Pakistani entrepreneurial capabilities and innovation.

He said that every television and air conditioner manufactured locally in Pakistan plays an important role in reducing imports, preserving foreign exchange reserves, increasing industrial capacity and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

Referring to the government’s National Industrial Policy and Tariff Policy, Haroon Akhtar Khan said that the government is fully supporting industries through reforms and business-friendly measures.

He also highlighted the importance of economic cooperation between Pakistan and China and said that this partnership reflects a new phase of industrial cooperation between the two countries.

He appreciated Airlink’s commitment to inclusive growth, saying that the company is providing employment to more than 2,500 people, including a significant number of women.
