Technology company Google has released the Android 17 QPR 2 Beta 3 update for eligible Pixel devices, which includes several new features along with the usual bug fixes. The most notable change in the update is the ability to customize the Quick Settings menu.
In Android 17, Google is introducing a new Quick Settings Layout Editor through which users will be able to arrange the toggles and settings in Quick Settings according to their needs.
Users will also be able to decide which Quick Toggles appear in the form of large tiles, while the position of the brightness slider and the media player can also be changed.
Google is also preparing to add more theming options in the final version. These include options to adjust the hue of the four primary colors through a slider and add more blur effects to different sections.
Features related to call protection have also been added in the new update. Their goal is to protect users from falling victim to social engineering schemes.
Additional confirmation dialogs will be displayed when dialing numbers specifically related to call forwarding so that users do not end up forwarding their calls to another number as a result of fraud or misdirection.
Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 is currently available as a beta update for eligible Pixel devices, while more of these new features are expected to reach users with the final version.
