Imran Khan returns to the big screen after 10 years; new film announced

Bollywood actor Imran Khan has confirmed his return to the big screen after staying away from the film industry for nearly a decade. He will play the lead role in the romantic comedy Adhure Hum, Adhure Tum, directed by Danish Aslam.

The 43-year-old actor was last seen in the 2015 film Katti Batti alongside Kangana Ranaut. Following that film, he took a hiatus from acting; however, news of his comeback through this new project has captured the attention of fans.

Imran Khan is counted among the actors who impressed audiences with their distinctive performances in romantic comedies. Speaking about his new film, the actor stated that the story serves as a conscious response to certain emotional elements and nuances often missing from contemporary films.

According to him, Adhure Hum, Adhure Tum is a mature romantic comedy that attempts to address themes and feelings he believes are sometimes overlooked in today's movies.

Addressing his fans, the actor said that if they enjoyed his previous romantic comedies, they would certainly like this new film as well.

Citing films like I Hate Love Storys, Break Ke Baad, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, he remarked that if audiences appreciated the blend of elements in those movies, then this new film—arriving after a decade—is also intended for that same audience.

Bhumi Pednekar also part of the cast

Actress Bhumi Pednekar will appear alongside Imran Khan in a lead role in Adhure Hum, Adhure Tum. The film is currently in the post-production stage and is expected to be released on Netflix in late 2026.
