Saudi Arabia introduces its first electric vehicle

Saudi Arabia’s national automotive brand, ‘Ceer’, has unveiled its first electric vehicle, the ‘Exo-Bot’. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman presented the vehicle, which comprises both sedan and SUV models.

Launched by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the ‘Exo-Bot’ is the Ceer brand’s inaugural product. The company plans to introduce a total of seven models over the next five years.

According to reports, future models will include small and medium-sized vehicles featuring various drive systems, enabling the production of cars tailored to diverse consumer needs.

All Ceer vehicles will be manufactured at the Ceer Industrial Complex located in King Salman Automotive City. This plant ranks among the largest automotive facilities in the Middle East and is equipped with state-of-the-art production capabilities.

The Ceer brand was established in 2022 to facilitate the local manufacturing of electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia. The company is a key component of the plan to develop the Kingdom's automotive manufacturing sector.

Reports indicate that by 2034, Ceer is expected to contribute over $8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s total economic output. Additionally, the brand is projected to improve the national trade balance by more than $21 billion and generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
