MDCAT 2026: Candidates will be able to determine their probable results using the answer key

The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) was held today across the country, including Karachi, with a large number of candidates participating. Following the three-hour exam, students are now awaiting the question paper and answer key, which will enable them to estimate their expected scores.
The MDCAT question paper and answer key will be released in PDF format. Candidates will be able to compare the correct answers provided therein with their own attempted papers to determine how many of their answers were correct.
How many questions were there in the MDCAT?
The exam was conducted under strict security arrangements. A separate question paper was prepared for each province, and at least two different versions were utilized for each province to minimize the risk of cheating or the unauthorized circulation of the paper.
The MDCAT was a written, paper-based exam conducted in English. It comprised a total of 180 multiple-choice questions, divided into five sections.

Biology accounted for the highest number of questions at 81, while there were 45 questions for Chemistry and 36 for Physics. Nine questions each were included from English and Logical Reasoning.
Minimum Marks for MBBS and BDS
According to the criteria established by the PMDC, a minimum score of 55% is required for admission to MBBS, and 50% for BDS. There is no negative marking in this exam; meaning, no marks will be deducted from a candidate's total for incorrect answers.
The difficulty level of the questions was also pre-determined. The total question set comprised 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult questions.
Once the answer key is released, candidates will be able to estimate their scores by counting their correct answers; however, this will not constitute the final result. Only the official result issued by the relevant authorities or the university will be considered valid for the subsequent stages of admission.
