Pakistani businessman Muizz Mirza has become the owner of an English football club

Muizz Ahmed Mirza, a Kuwait-based businessman of Pakistani origin, has acquired ownership of the English non-league football club Plymouth Parkway FC through his international education company, MEC Study Group.

Karachi-born Muizz Mirza is the second person of Pakistani origin to own an English football club; prior to him, Shahid Khan, a Pakistani-American businessman, had also acquired ownership of an English football club.

Founded in 1988, Plymouth Parkway FC plays its home matches at Bolitho Park. The club currently competes in the Southern League Premier Division South—the seventh tier of English football—whereas the city's prominent club, Plymouth Argyle, plays four divisions higher.

Following the change in ownership, Muizz Mirza has outlined long-term plans for the club's future. He aims for Plymouth Parkway to reach the English Football League (EFL) within the next ten years.

Mirza’s strategy involves a phased approach to elevate the club to higher tiers of English football. The arrival of the new management is viewed as a significant development for the club's future, with a focus expected to be placed on its growth and development plans in the coming years.
