Local hybrid vehicles up to 2000 cc exempted from sales tax

The government has made a significant amendment to the sales tax for locally manufactured hybrid electric vehicles. Under the new decision, local hybrid vehicles with engines up to 2000 cc will be exempted from sales tax.
Amendment to Sales Tax Laws
The Ministry of Finance has made changes to the sales tax laws related to hybrid electric vehicles. After the amendment, locally manufactured hybrid vehicles up to 2000 cc have come under the ambit of tax exemption.
The Ministry of Finance has also issued a formal notification of this decision, in which it has been stated that the amendment related to sales tax will be implemented immediately.
Implementation of the new amendment
According to the notification, the sales tax exemption given to local hybrid electric vehicles with engines up to 2000 cc will be effective immediately.
