Sikandar Raza appointed Zimbabwe captain for ODI series against Australia

Zimbabwe have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, with T20 captain Sikandar Raza also given the leadership of the ODI team.

Permanent captain Richard Ngarawa is in the process of fully recovering from a lower back injury, so he will not be part of the series against Australia. Sikandar Raza will captain the team in his absence.

Zimbabwe's 15-member squad

Apart from Sikandar Raza, the announced team includes Ben Curran, Blessing Mozarabani, Brad Evans, Brendan Taylor, Brian Bennett, Craig Aaron, Ernest Masuko, Graeme Cremer, Innocent Kaya, Newman Nyamahuri, Ryan Burrell, Tadewanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza and Wesley Madhiwere.

Series schedule

The first match of the ODI series between Zimbabwe and Australia will be played tomorrow in Harare. The second match of the series will be played on September 18, while the third and final match will be played on September 20.

The last ODI series between the two teams was hosted by Australia in 2022. The Australian team is touring Zimbabwe after a gap of 12 years.
