Rs 100 per liter relief on petrol for motorcycles and vehicles up to 800 cc

To mitigate the impact of rising oil prices in the global market, the Prime Minister has announced a special petrol relief scheme for users of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi and vehicles up to 800 cc. Under this scheme, eligible users will be given a discount of Rs 100 per liter on petrol.

Which users will get relief?

According to the Prime Minister, users of two-wheelers and three-wheelers, including motorcycles, rickshaws and Qingqi, will be given a relief of Rs 100 per liter on 20 liters of petrol per month.

Similarly, owners of small vehicles up to 800 cc will be able to get a discount of Rs 100 per liter on 30 liters of petrol per month.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister's House said that the government is aware of the financial pressure on the public due to the recent tensions in the Middle East and the increase in global oil prices. The Prime Minister said that the government will not leave the public alone in difficult situations.

When will the scheme be implemented?

The special relief scheme will be implemented in different areas in phases. It will be implemented in Islamabad from the intervening night of next Monday and Tuesday, while in the rest of Pakistan, including Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the scheme will be implemented from the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

The government has also started the registration process for the scheme. According to the Prime Minister, information regarding the registration procedure will be disseminated to the public through an awareness campaign.

Information related to motorcycles, rickshaws and small vehicles will have to be provided for registration in this scheme. The Prime Minister also thanked the provincial governments for their cooperation in this regard.
