New feature introduced to save favorite songs in WhatsApp

WhatsApp is working to streamline the experience of adding music to status updates. The Meta-owned app has begun rolling out a new feature that allows users to save their favorite songs directly within the status update editor.

This new option enables users to "star" (or save) any song from the music catalog. Consequently, users will not need to search through the entire catalog to reuse a song in the future.

Selecting a specific part of the song

Along with this feature, WhatsApp has introduced the ability to control the music's duration. Users can decide exactly how long the selected song plays within the status update.

Furthermore, users can select a specific segment of the song for their status. This is achieved by moving the waveform selector forward or backward to pinpoint the desired section.

In this way, after selecting a song from Meta’s music catalog, users can customize both the duration and the specific portion of the track to suit their preferences.

This new feature is being rolled out in stages, so it may not be available to all users simultaneously.
