Finding old chats in WhatsApp is about to become even easier

WhatsApp is working on simplifying the process of finding specific messages within past conversations. With this new feature, users will no longer need to exit the chat and open the "Chat Info" screen to locate an older message.
According to reports, this new search shortcut is currently being tested in the iOS beta version of WhatsApp, allowing users to search for past messages directly from the chat screen.
Search Option Directly on the Chat Screen
Currently, finding an old message requires navigating to the "Chat Info" screen, where the search option is selected to locate the desired message or content. This process can be time-consuming, especially in long-running conversations.
The new feature introduces a search shortcut directly onto the chat screen. However, this button will not be permanently visible; instead, it will appear when the user scrolls up within the chat to access older messages.
This change will allow users to search for past messages without repeatedly switching to the "Chat Info" screen, keeping them within the conversation itself.
Search Facility for WhatsApp Channels
This feature will not be limited to standard chats; work is also underway to introduce it to WhatsApp Channels. This will enable users to search for past posts and updates within a channel.
As the new search shortcut is currently in the beta testing phase, a definitive date for its official release to the general public has not yet been announced.
