Reports regarding the discontinuation of the 10-rupee note declared baseless

The State Bank of Pakistan has issued a clarification regarding news circulating on social media about the discontinuation of the 10-rupee banknote and a deadline for its exchange. The central bank has termed all such reports baseless and contrary to the facts.

According to the State Bank spokesperson, no deadline has been set for discontinuing or exchanging the 10-rupee note. Categorically denying the reports circulating on social media, the spokesperson urged the public not to place any credence in them.

Proposal for New Currency Notes Under Consideration

The spokesperson stated that the State Bank has proposed introducing a new series of banknotes; however, this proposal is currently under consideration by the Federal Cabinet.

No final decision has been reached on this matter yet, and no decision regarding the discontinuation or replacement of existing currency notes of any denomination has been announced.

The spokesperson advised the public to rely solely on official State Bank of Pakistan sources for any information regarding the discontinuation or replacement of currency notes.
