Aviation company reaches court over Nora Fatehi's social media comments

Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi is facing legal action over a comment she made on her social media account about a chartered plane. The aviation company has filed a Rs 3 crore defamation and defamation suit against the actress, which will be heard in a court in Gandhinagar on September 25.

The company maintains that the dispute began in December last year when Nora Fatehi was travelling on a chartered flight from Mumbai to Jaipur. The actress made a video of the plane during the flight and later shared it on Instagram.

According to the application, Nora Fatehi described the plane as a small toy and a ‘Lego airplane’ along with the video. The company says that the words used by the actress created a negative impression about its plane and services.

The aviation company told the court that Nora Fatehi has over 46 million followers on Instagram, so her post was not limited to a few people but spread widely. The company claims that this has resulted in a loss of business reputation and a 15-20% drop in flight bookings, while cancellations have also increased.

The company also took the position in court that the aircraft about which the actress made comments was fully suitable for passenger travel. According to it, the aircraft was approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and was being operated in accordance with the prescribed NSOP.

What did the company demand from the court?

In addition to the amount of compensation, the petitioner has demanded that the court order Nora Fatehi to remove the alleged defamatory videos and other content related to the aircraft on social media.

The company has also requested that the actress be ordered to issue a public explanation so that the alleged damage caused to the company can be redressed accordingly.

Now the next hearing of the court in this matter will be important, where the claims filed against Nora Fatehi and the position presented by the company will be reviewed.
