Babar Azam speaks out on sudden changes in the squad

Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam has revealed that he was not informed in advance about the major shake-up in the national squad after the defeat in the Lord's Test. According to him, he was neither consulted in this matter nor his approval was taken before the decision.

While talking to the media ahead of the third Test at Edgbaston, Babar Azam was asked about the changes in the team. The captain clarified that he, like others, came to know about the situation only after the PCB's announcement.

Babar Azam said that this is a great opportunity for new players to be included in the squad. He said that the decision taken by the board must have some thought and reason behind it, so only the PCB can give a better explanation about it.

The national captain said that the sudden changes definitely surprised him, but he does not think that this situation made the last week unusually difficult for him.

It should be noted that immediately after Pakistan's defeat in the Lord's Test, the PCB made major changes to the national team. In addition to dropping seven players from the squad, the board also removed head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul from their positions.

After these changes, seven new players were made part of the national squad, including five cricketers who have not yet been able to play Test cricket for Pakistan.

In such a situation, Babar Azam's statement shows that despite leading the national team, he was also not informed in advance of this big decision of the board.
