Chery announces the introduction of the Q electric vehicle in Pakistan

Chery Master Pakistan has announced the launch of its fully electric vehicle, Chery Q, further advancing the country’s electric vehicle market. Details of the vehicle’s price and bookings will be revealed at the Pakistan Auto Show 2026 on September 18.

According to the company, Chery Q has been specially designed keeping in mind urban travel and daily use. The vehicle’s arrival comes at a time when the demand for new energy vehicles is increasing rapidly in Pakistan. In the financial year 2025-26, this sector recorded a 392 percent growth and the share of new energy vehicles in the overall auto market reached about 15 percent.

The vehicle is equipped with a 42.7 kWh battery, which can travel up to 400 kilometers on a single charge according to the NEDC cycle. According to the company, its energy efficiency is up to 9.4 kilometers per unit.

The Chery Q also features advanced features, including 21 features of the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System, automatic parking assist, a 15.6-inch 2.5K display, mobile connectivity and a vehicle-to-load system.

The company also highlighted the vehicle’s low operating costs. According to its estimates, a conventional petrol vehicle traveling 20,000 kilometers annually requires about Rs 488,000 in fuel, while the annual energy costs of a Chery Q charged with additional solar power can be about Rs 30,000.

Chery Master Pakistan says that the increasing use of solar energy in the country has also created new opportunities for electric vehicles. Pakistan imported about 17 gigawatts of solar PV capacity in 2024, after which the use of rooftop solar at the domestic level has also increased.

According to the company, excess solar electricity generated in homes can be used to charge electric vehicles instead of being sent back to the grid, further reducing the vehicle's daily energy costs.
