X's new rewards program for original content creators

X has announced a major change in its monetization policy for creators, giving more importance to original content. Under the new system, the platform will seek to financially reward creators who create their own unique and quality content.
According to the company, the current AIDS Revenue Sharing program has been terminated on September 7, 2026, while applications for the Original Content Rewards program will begin on September 8.
This change has been made at a time when the number of videos and posts copied from other platforms on X has increased significantly. After the start of monetization in various countries, including Pakistan, many accounts had started reposting other people's content to earn more income.
Clips made from live broadcasts of TV channels and viral videos from TikTok, Facebook and Instagram have also been reshared on X in large numbers, making it more difficult for original creators to compete.
The main aim of the new program is to change this trend. X wants to discourage content that is simply copied from others to get more views, engagement, or revenue, while trying to give more credit to creators who produce original content.
X also clarified that creators who have already been verified and have a payment method linked will not have to complete these steps again. They will be able to check their eligibility by visiting Creator Studio.
