Roost, the pigeon-speed messaging app, is rapidly becoming popular among young people

A new messaging app is gaining popularity among social media users, offering a unique experience of delivering messages at the speed of a pigeon, rather than instant messaging.
The app, called Roost, is available on both iOS and Android and allows users to send messages to friends who live far away. The special thing about it is that the message does not reach the person in front of them immediately, but the user waits for the message to be delivered according to the speed of the bird or other animal of their choice.
After its launch in April, Roost quickly gained the attention of global users. According to the app’s creator, Logan Mendelsohn, its number of users had exceeded seven million by August 18.
The app’s popularity is also being linked to the growing desire for some distance from technology and a slower lifestyle among young people. Tired of scrolling and being constantly online, some young people are now using simple mobile phones, attending phone-free events and returning to activities that do not require a screen.
In keeping with this trend, Roost offers digital communication based on patience and waiting rather than instant communication.
Interestingly, Roost is not the only such app. In April, software developer Noah Aerobino also introduced a similar app called CareerPidge. The creators of both apps say they developed these projects without knowing each other’s ideas.
Thus, in a seemingly fast-paced digital world, pigeon-speed messaging is emerging as a new and unique way for young people to communicate.
