Apple's first foldable iPhone Duo introduced, priced at $1,999

Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone market by introducing its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo. The company also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at a special event on September 9.

New design of the foldable iPhone

The iPhone Duo has come out with a completely different design from traditional iPhones. The phone opens from the middle like a passport and after opening, its internal display provides a large screen, which gives an impression of an iPad during use.

When closed, the phone has a 5.4-inch external screen, while when it is opened, a 7.6-inch internal display is revealed.

Apple's new CEO John Turing called the phone the beginning of a new design for the company. According to him, Apple has worked for several years on improving the foldable design.

John Turns said that some other companies' foldable phones feel like combining two phones, while Apple has tried to give users a different kind of foldable experience through the iPhone Duo.

A20 Pro chip and camera system

The iPhone Duo uses Apple's new A20 Pro chipset, while the phone runs on the iOS 27 operating system. The device has a 5800 mAh battery with 12 GB of RAM.

The camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The phone also has a 12-megapixel front camera, while an under-display camera is also provided.

The fingerprint sensor is installed on the side of the phone.

Price and market availability

Apple has set the starting price of the iPhone Duo at $ 1999, which is more than 554,000 rupees in Pakistani currency. According to the company, the foldable iPhone will be available to users in different countries from October 23.

iPhone 18 Pro Series and New Products

Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the same event. Both phones have new artificial intelligence-based features, while battery performance has also been improved.

According to the company, the battery life of the iPhone 18 Pro will be up to 36 hours, while the battery life of the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be up to 45 hours.

Apple also introduced AirPods headphones, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 along with the new iPhones.
