Google announces one-year free Gemini subscription for all students in Pakistan

Google Vice President Wilson White has announced that Google Gemini subscription will be free for one year for all students in Pakistan, with an official announcement expected later this week.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Google’s office in Pakistan yesterday.

Google Vice President Wilson White says that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s goal of making Pakistan a hub for $30 billion IT exports is also in line with Google’s own goals.

Wilson White added that over the past 10 years, Google has contributed to more than Rs3.9 trillion in economic activity for local businesses and households in Pakistan, while as a result, more than 960,000 jobs were supported.

He added that ‘this is just the beginning.’
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Google Vice President Wilson and his team to Pakistan and said that Pakistan is the beginning of an important and beautiful new journey for Google.

He said that Google is a well-known technology company worldwide and there are immense opportunities for Google in Pakistan. Google can play an important role for the youth and technology sector in Pakistan. There is a need to further expand cooperation between Pakistan and Google.
