Summer holidays in Azad Kashmir extended by 4 more days

The summer vacations in educational institutions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been extended by another 4 days. After which students have got an additional week of vacation in total.

According to the notification issued by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government, all government and private educational institutions in the summer zone will remain closed from August 10 to 13, 2026.

According to the notification, August 14 will be a public holiday in connection with Independence Day. While August 15 and 16 will be regular holidays on Saturday and Sunday.

In this way, students in educational institutions in the summer zone will get a continuous week of vacation, while educational institutions will reopen later as per the fixed schedule.

The extension of summer vacations will apply to both government and private educational institutions.

On the other hand, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat ordered all educational institutions to remain closed till August 24 and issued a strict warning to the administration for opening them prematurely.

The provincial education minister has clarified that schools in Punjab were not allowed to open before August 24. According to Rana Sikandar Hayat, permission was given to set up one-month learning camps to compensate for the educational loss of students, which were aimed at making up for the learning loss of students.
