The 14th South Asian Games will be held in Pakistan from April 3 to 11 next year

The Executive Committee of the South Asian Olympic Council in Islamabad has approved the schedule and key administrative matters of the 14th South Asian Games.
The meeting was chaired by Pakistan Olympic Association President Arif Saeed. Representatives from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives were present, while the Indian delegation participated through video link. Pakistan Olympic Association Secretary General Khalid Mahmood and officials from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination also attended the meeting.
The committee decided that this mega event will be held in Pakistan from April 3 to 11 next year. The competitions will be held in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar. It will include 28 men's and 25 women's sports events, while more than 4,200 athletes and officials from member countries are expected to participate. A total of 346 gold medals will be at stake.
The representatives of the member countries were given a detailed briefing on the preparations for the Games in Pakistan, arrangements and competitions to be held at different venues.
President Pakistan Olympic Association Arif Saeed said on the occasion that Pakistan is fully prepared to host the South Asian Games. The government is providing full support for its successful organization and all possible steps will be taken to make this event magnificent and memorable.
The Prime Minister has already approved the funds. After approving the schedule and other arrangements, the committee agreed to further accelerate the preparations for the mega event in Pakistan.
