Shaheen Afridi said that I am still the captain for the World Cup

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has said that for the World Cup, I am the captain of the national team so far and the National Champions Cup will help in selecting the World Cup squad.

Talking to the media on the occasion of the National Champions Cup trophy unveiling in Multan, Shaheen Afridi said that for the World Cup, I am the captain and the National Champions Cup will make it easier to evaluate the performance of the players and form the World Cup squad.

Pakistan Greens captain Shadab Khan could not attend the trophy unveiling and press conference due to fever, and Faheem Ashraf represented him in his place.

The National Champions Cup will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium from August 11 to 18. The teams of Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites, Pakistan Blues and Pakistan Gold will play against each other in a single round robin format in the tournament.

After the league stage, the top two teams in the points table will compete in the final on August 18.

The four teams will be led by Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan and Shaheen Shah Afridi respectively. All matches will be day-night and will start at 3 pm Pakistan time.
