Taylor Swift songs removed from Trump campaign and White House videos

Songs by singer Taylor Swift have been removed from some videos shared on the social media accounts of US President Donald Trump's campaign and the White House. Swift's music has been featured in several Trump campaign and White House videos in the past, but the latest development has raised questions about the use of the songs.

According to Reuters, representatives for the White House and Taylor Swift did not immediately issue an official statement on the matter. It was also not clear why the decision was made to remove the songs from the videos and whether the singer or her team raised any objections to their use.

The video was accompanied by a description of Trump as a leader who loves America and the American people.

Another video shared by the White House in April showed the Artemis II mission crew meeting with President Trump. The video used Taylor Swift’s song “High Fidelity” and its lyrics were also included in the context of the video’s scenes.

Similarly, a video posted on a White House TikTok account last November featured the song “The Fate of Ophelia” from Swift’s album “The Life of a Showgirl.” The video featured images of the American flag, various national monuments and President Trump, including a photo taken during his arrest in 2023.

The Trump administration’s communications team has been creating social media content for some time now by combining popular music with images of political and government activities. The videos also highlighted issues such as Trump's immigration policy, US military operations against Iran, and the arrest of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The recent use of Taylor Swift songs in Trump campaign and White House videos, and then their removal from some videos, has once again reignited the debate over the use of music by famous artists in political campaigns.
