China has developed a ceramic battery that works in extreme temperatures

Chinese scientists have made a major breakthrough in battery technology by developing a ceramic-based lithium-ion microbattery that can operate safely and stably even at extreme temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius.

According to experts, there is a risk of fire if the liquid electrolyte in ordinary lithium-ion batteries leaks or is damaged, while the new ceramic battery can largely eliminate this problem.

Researchers at Tsinghua University say that the new battery is not only safer but also could prove important for future technology due to its small size, high energy storage capacity and reliable performance even in harsh environments.

This new invention could pave the way for making batteries used in electric vehicles, smartphones, smartwatches, medical equipment and other advanced electronic devices safer and more efficient.
