The US has allowed Anthropic to release the Mythos 5 model

The US government has eased restrictions imposed over national security concerns, allowing artificial intelligence company Anthropic to re-release its advanced AI model, Mythos 5, to a limited number of trusted companies and organizations.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Latnick said in a letter to Anthropic that the company had taken effective steps to address security concerns with government agencies, after which it was decided that access to Mythos 5 could be given to select and trusted partners.

However, the government has not allowed general availability of Anthropic’s relatively less powerful AI model, Fable 5.

Anthropic said in a statement that Mythos 5, the company’s most powerful cybersecurity AI model, will now be made available to a limited number of cybersecurity organizations and infrastructure providers.

According to the company, work is underway to restore access to approved institutions as soon as possible, while efforts will also continue to expand the availability of Mythos 5 and Fable 5 in the future through cooperation with the government.
