Samsung is preparing to return to the premium over-ear wireless headphone market

Samsung is reportedly preparing to re-enter the premium over-ear wireless headphone market.

The company’s new headphones could potentially be a direct competitor to Apple’s AirPods Max and Sony’s WH-1000XM series, a development that signals Samsung’s return to the sector after more than a decade.

According to reports, evidence of a new pair of headphones, internally codenamed Galaxy H1, has surfaced in Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app.

Connection status icons in the app suggest that these could be headphones with an over-ear wireless design. The leaked icons show white, gray, and black headphones, while some graphics show the ear cushions as gray or green.

The images show the headphones’ design featuring a wide headband and relatively large earcups, but these images do not confirm the final design.

According to current reports, Samsung may introduce the new headphones in early or spring 2027, but the company has not yet made an official announcement in this regard.

The new headphones are likely to include features such as active noise cancellation, ambient sound, advanced Bluetooth connectivity, AI assistant and automatic switching between different Galaxy devices, but these features have not been confirmed.

Samsung may also include its Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality technology in the new headphones, which provides improved and high-resolution audio with compatible Galaxy devices.

It should be noted that Samsung had also introduced the Level On Wireless Pro headphones in 2015. Through the new Galaxy headphones, the company is preparing to re-enter the premium audio market through deep integration with the existing Galaxy ecosystem.
