Arshad Nadeem decides not to participate in Lausanne Diamond League

Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has decided not to participate in the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League and will focus on training in South Africa instead of the event in Switzerland.

The 2026 Lausanne Diamond League is scheduled to be held in Switzerland on August 21, while Arshad Nadeem is currently training at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.

According to reports, Arshad Nadeem will train in South Africa for two weeks. His name was initially included in the entry list for the Lausanne Diamond League, but he has now decided to prioritize training abroad.

Arshad Nadeem’s next participation is expected at the World Athletics Ultimate Championships, which will be held in Budapest from September 6 to 14, after which he will participate in the Asian Games.

It should be noted that in the recent Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Arshad Nadeem finished ninth among 12 athletes with a best throw of 77.41 meters and was out of the competition after the initial three throws.

Sri Lanka's Ramesh Tharanga Pathirage won the gold medal with a stunning throw of 89.75 meters.
