Two cases of sexual assault filed against Essex cricketer Robin Das

Robin Das, a 24-year-old cricketer for the English county team Essex, has been charged with two separate counts of rape. According to the Metropolitan Police, he was charged in both cases on July 23, 2026.
Police stated that this action followed a report of rape made by a woman regarding an incident in Barking in March 2024. Robin Das had previously been arrested in connection with the matter on August 27, 2025.
The cricketer is due to appear at Inner London Crown Court on October 9. Police added that the complainant is receiving necessary support from specialist officers.
Essex Club Suspends Cricketer
Essex County Cricket Club has confirmed that Robin Das has been suspended following the charges. According to the club, the matter relates to an incident that occurred outside of cricket-related activities.
The club stated that it would remain in contact with the relevant authorities throughout the legal proceedings.

Robin Das began his cricket career with Essex in 2020. To date, he has played 60 matches for the county team, comprising 9 first-class, 29 List A (One Day), and 24 T20 fixtures.
